"with exceptional leads and perfect direction, Zao Theatre's production of Bright Star, running through April 15, is extremely moving....set in small towns in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in the mid-1940s with flashbacks to 1923. The plot focuses on two characters whose stories interweave....As Alice Murphy, Juli Buehrle is exceptional and doesn't make one false move. ...Scotty Hagen is wonderful as Billy Cane...As Jimmy Ray Dobbs...Jordan Giannetti is equally as good and does a great job showing the conflicted moments in the character's past....With a plot that will make you laugh and also make you cry as it covers a wide range of characters and emotions, Bright Star is a beautiful story about forgiveness, guilt, coming to terms with the past, and redemption. With exceptional performances, Zao Theatre's production is excellent."  - Gil Benbrook, TalkinBroadway.com (click here to read the complete review)
