MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING - Sonoran Repertory Theatre - October 30 – November 7, 2026

By William Shakespeare
Adapted and Directed by Wes Martin

Sonoran Repertory Theatre launches its inaugural season with Shakespeare and the return of award-winning director and adaptor Wes Martin, whose previous productions of Richard III, Titus Andronicus and Julius Caesar brought Shakespeare to Valley audiences in bold and unexpected ways. This time, it's Much Ado About Nothing, moved to present-day Arizona and the wealthy world of North Scottsdale. Beatrice and Benedick are still doing battle, Hero and Claudio are still falling in love, and Shakespeare's language remains Shakespeare's language. The setting, however, is very much our own.

THE PHILO - Sonoran Repertory Theatre - February 5 – 13, 2027

By Kirt Shineman
Directed by Graydon Grum
World Premiere

For its second production, Sonoran Repertory Theatre presents the World Premiere of The Philo, a new play by award-winning, nationally recognized playwright Kirt Shineman, directed by acclaimed director Graydon Grum. Inspired by Sophocles' Philoctetes, Shineman takes an ancient story about loyalty, betrayal and duty and drops it squarely into our own complicated world. A soldier has disappeared. The government needs him back. And almost everyone involved has a different idea of what the truth actually is. It's part political thriller, part tragedy, with an audience prediction market thrown into the mix. What happens next? You tell us.

DICKIE'S GOT HIS HANS FULL - Sonoran Repertory Theatre - April 23 – May 1, 2027

By Todd Olson
Directed by Todd Olson
World Premiere

Sonoran Repertory Theatre closes its inaugural season with the World Premiere of a new comedy by Todd Olson, co-author of the internationally produced My Way: A Tribute to the Music of Frank Sinatra and I Left My Heart: A Salute to the Music of Tony Bennett. And Todd is coming to Phoenix to direct it himself. The premise is almost too good to be true. Except it is true. In 1857, Charles Dickens invited Hans Christian Andersen to visit his family home. Andersen planned to stay two weeks. He stayed five. Todd Olson takes it from there. Two of the world's most famous writers. One increasingly unhappy household. And a guest who simply will not leave. Dickie's Got His Hans Full!
