Actors WorkHouse's Spring 2017 Class Schedule


The Actors WorkHouse opened in 2012. Founded by Duane Daniels, a veteran of stage and television. Since opening, our actors have gained insight into the practical approach to acting.

It's pretty simple how The Actors WorkHouse works: You become a member at $129 for a monthly (30 day) pass. You can attend ALL classes at The WorkHouse during that period.

ACTING TECHNIQUES
Tuesdays, 7-10 pm and Thursdays 7-10 pm
The WorkHouse Method (also called Duane-isms) will give you power in your performances. A practical approach to acting that is very different from traditional outdated methods.

ON CAMERA
Wednesdays 10 am - 1 pm and 7-10 pm. Saturdays, 10 am - 12:30 pm
Gain experience in every class. You are assigned a scene or two, given time to look it over, then we put you in front of the camera. Watch it back and learn!

Space 55 is proud to present an evening of short plays that journey into the unknown. Whether it's on the war-torn fields of Iraq, the endless void of outer space, or a hitchhiker's journey across the land of the dead, "Eight Short Cuts" takes audiences down scenic routes to places they've never been before. Featuring an ensemble of local actors bringing the works of local playwrights to life, "Eight Short Cuts" celebrates the "short but sweet" vitality of one-act plays. Some people need two hours to create a whole new world- these eight writers didn't need more than 15 minutes!

Valley Youth Theatre's Spring 2017 Classes



Spring Classes
Begin March 18, 2017 for Ages 3 to 17. 
Classes run Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays!

Ages: 12 -17 years old

In this dynamic class, students are given the tools to tackle any classical, contemporary or original script. This class will focus on building and deepening fundamental skills; relationship, conflict, action and personalization through the use of challenging and fun exercises. 

First Acting Out Class: Wednesday, March 22, 2017Class Day & Time: Wednesdays, 6:40pm - 8:00pmClass $165 + Registration Fee

This class is 8 weeks and culminates with a performance for family and friends.

ALL experience levels welcome!


Technique 
Ages: 7 - 11 years old

This class is designed to help unlock imagination and build an arts foundation by studying the fundamentals of acting including: voice, movement, characterization and stage direction. A professional arts instructor will show unique ways to better approach the stage by teaching methods to sharpen audition and performance skills, understand direction, make adjustments and make strong choices... all the elements that will give a young actor confidence. All experience levels are welcome.


First Class: Wednesday, March 22, 2017Class Time: 5:00pm - 6:20pm

This class is 8 weeks plus a fun showcase at the end to show-off for parents and friends. 

ALL experience levels welcome!

Ages: 12 - 17

This is a weekly class that focuses on the 
fundamentals of improvisation through exercises that help to develop strong ensemble and character work. Develop stage presence as well as patience, self-confidence, story building, quick thinking, good communication skills and a respect for other performers and their creativity.

First Class: Monday, March 20, 2017
Time: 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Cost: Class $165 + Registration Fee


This class is 8 weeks plus a fun showcase at the end to show-off for parents and friends.

Ages: 5 - 8 & 9 - 12

This is a weekly class that will teach students the EXCITING elements of musical theatre including: acting, dance, diction, 
pitch, rhythm, tempo and ensemble work.  
Students will perform ensemble numbers from Broadway shows for their showcase.

Triple Threat is a weekly class for the serious performer who wants to focus on the big three performing arts disciplines: acting, dance and voice. Each session focuses more in depth on a different discipline. The spring session will be focusing on acting and scene work.

Winter: Singing for the stage- Solo/Ensemble Performance

Ages: 5 - 8

Explore the world of drama and dance using the themes and music from our favorite stories! Each day will be filled with dramatic games to warm up our bodies and voices and get our imaginations ready for theatrical exploration. Students will learn theatre skills and terms, engage in dramatic play, explore dance and movement.

Play Pretend!
Ages: 3 - 4 years old

Play Pretend introduces young children to theatre through role playing and movement.  Each week your little actor will embark on a new adventure in play and creativity.  Inspire your child's imagination with theater games, crazy costumes, storytelling, funny dances, magic, music and more. Move to the beat of fun music and new twists on their favorite stories or new tales they create.
