It's 1985, and rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

The Wedding Singer takes us back to a time when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. Based on the hit Adam Sandler movie, The Wedding Singer's sparkling new score does for the '80s what Hairspray did for the '60s. Just say yes to the most romantic musical in twenty years.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is an endearing and quirky musical about six coming-of-age tweens who compete in the Putnam County Spelling Bee. Throughout the competition, we learn compelling stories about their stress, awkward teenage experiences, and sadness at leaving their childhood behind. The humor and loveable characters make this show fun to watch!

Director Amy Jo Halliday says of the show, "Get ready to embark on an emotional roller coaster with "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee"! As you follow the quirky and endearing contestants through their spelling trials, you'll experience a full spectrum of emotions – joy, sadness, and everything in between. PETER AND THE STARCATCHER - Scottsdale Community College - October 18-26, 2024

Step into a world of adventure, fantasy, and whimsy as the Scottsdale School of Film+Theatre at Scottsdale Community College (SCC) proudly presents "Peter and the Starcatcher." This Tony-winning play, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, reimagines the beloved story of Peter Pan, exploring the origins of The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up. Join us for an unforgettable theatrical experience filled with pirates, jungle tyrants, and the timeless themes of friendship, duty, and love.

The play follows a group of orphans, led by a precocious girl named Molly, as they encounter pirates, magical creatures, and untold dangers on their journey. Through clever storytelling and imaginative staging, the play explores themes of friendship, bravery, and the magic of believing in the impossible.

Directed by Don K. Williams, SCC’s head of performance and directing, "Peter and the Starcatcher" offers a fresh and imaginative take on the classic tale. Williams shared, “This production allows us to delve into the playful and poignant moments that define this timeless character. It’s a story about discovering who you are and the power of friendship, which resonates with audiences of all ages.”
