THE MACBETHEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT SPECTACULATHON… EVER!!!

Synopsis

What are elves to do when Santa maintains dangerous working conditions? Bring your friends and leave the young ones at home (we're serious!) for a debaucherous dinner party hosted by Lady M. Something wicked this way comes and its called the holiday spirit!

Performance Dates/Location: Main Street Creative Arts Center (933 E Main St, Mesa, AZ 85203) Dec 4- 20th

Auditions:

Sept 19th at Metropolitan Arts Institute (1700 N 7th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85007) from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. 

Park in any open space and follow signs to the theatre

Auditions will consist of a 1-2 minute comedic contemporary monologue from a play, film, or TV show. If it happens to be a festive one, we won’t say no.

Callbacks will be on Sept 20th at Metropolitan Arts Institute and will consist of cold readings from the script and light fight choreography. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move around in.

NOTE: All roles in this play contain varying levels of physicality and fight choreography so please be mindful and let us know of any limitations you have that could impact your performance. 

This play does contain a high level of intimacy and sexual situations but NO NUDITY.  Please be at least 18 to audition.

CHARACTERS

MACBETH (Male identifying)  As one of Santa's finest and most thoughtful elves, he always tries to do the right thing...especially when it comes to making his wife happy.

LADY MACBETH (Female identifying)  Obsessed with the finer things in life, enjoying life's pleasures, and entertaining those around her, including herself. (Role will involve intimacy)

SANTA CLAUS ( Male Identifying) An authoritarian brute who runs the workshop with an iron fist and a cold heart. A total narcissistic nightmare. (Role requires high amount of physicality and intimacy)

MALCOM (Male identifying) The son of Santa and Mrs. Claus. A whiny, spineless, lost young soul who yearns for acceptance and love from his parents. ( Role will involve stage combat)

MRS. CLAUS (Female Identifying) At wit's end when it comes to her family, Mrs. Claus has spent her days living a life filled with regrets.

JINGLE (Any gender) An elf

BOFF (Any gender) An elf.

LARRY (Any gender) An elf.

"Catch Me If You Can may not have proven popular in its initial 2011 Broadway run, lasting only six months, but its catchy, jazz-infused score, intriguing book, and captivating characters make for a snazzy musical comedy. Hale Centre Theatre's current production is fantastic, with sure-footed direction and a cast who deliver excellent portrayals, including Joshua Ransford and Austin Delp as the two leads: a young con man on the run and the FBI agent trying to catch him....Director Cambrian James does a wonderful job in not only keeping the show moving at a quick pace but in ensuring the actors bring emotional weight to their roles while also instilling a wonderful 1960s sensibility in the actors' portrayals and in his wonderful choreography. ...understudy Joshua Ransford and Austin Delp.. both excel in their roles. Ransford has the perfect blend of youthful innocence and enthusiasm. His clear, powerful singing voice soars on his many songs and the charisma he brings to Frank instantly makes him a likable young man, even though he's a crook. Delp is fantastic as Hanratty.
