Auditions for HARVEY at Stage Left Productions announced for September 29

Harvey
Auditions Monday September 29th 6-9p

Directed by Gary Caswell

To Elwood, Harvey is delightful company. To his exasperated sister Veta, he’s a social disaster threatening her plans for respectability. When she tries to have Elwood committed, a comedy of errors erupts, and soon everyone—from doctors to dinner guests—finds themselves questioning what’s real, what’s sane, and what it means to truly see the world.

Warm, whimsical, and hilariously human, Mary Chase’s Harvey is a classic American comedy about friendship, acceptance, and the magic of believing in the extraordinary.

ROSENCRANTZ and GUILDENSTERN ARE DEAD - Stage Left Productions - October 10-26, 2025

Directed by Cody Dull

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern—two minor courtiers from Hamlet—find themselves center stage in Tom Stoppard’s witty, mind-bending masterpiece. As they grapple with chance, destiny, and a play they barely understand, comedy collides with tragedy in a world where the rules keep changing—and the ending is already written.

Clever, absurd, and profoundly moving, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead transforms Shakespeare’s sidelines into the ultimate existential adventure.

HARVEY - Stage Left Productions - November 7-23, 2025

Elwood P. Dowd insists on including his friend Harvey in all of his sister Veta’s social gatherings. Trouble is, Harvey is an imaginary six-and-a-half-foot-tall rabbit. To avoid future embarrassment for her family—and especially for her daughter, Myrtle Mae—Veta decides to have Elwood committed to a sanitarium. At the sanitarium, a frantic Veta explains to the staff that her years of living with Elwood’s hallucination have caused her to see Harvey also, and so the doctors mistakenly commit her instead of her mild-mannered brother. The truth comes out, however; Veta is freed, and the search is on for Elwood, who eventually arrives at the sanitarium of his own volition, looking for Harvey. But it seems that Elwood and his invisible companion have had a strange influence on more than one of the doctors. Only at the end does Veta realize that maybe Harvey isn’t so bad after all.

The Outsiders at Stage Left Productions bursts with emotion and realism. The talented cast of almost all teen actors brings a natural intensity to the characters in the stage adaptation of S.E. Hinton's classic novel. Under the confident direction of Christian Graca, the cast portray the bonds, struggles, and heartbreaks of these teenage and young adult characters with honesty and depth, and the production captures both the rawness of youth and the complexity of class conflict in a way that feels fresh and urgent…As Ponyboy Curtis, Brady Molitor delivers a touching and grounded performance that captures the character's introspection and emotional growth. Molitor is excellent in the role, making you feel deeply for the character and wanting to protect him as much as his two brothers and his friends try to do. It's a superb performance of this beloved character”

THE MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST - Stage Left Productions - July 11-August 3, 2025

 Directed by Glenn Parker

The place is the small Mississippi town of Brookhaven, the time a few days before the Fourth of July. Carnelle Scott (known locally as “Miss Hot Tamale") is rehearsing furiously for the Miss Firecracker Contest—hoping that a victory will salvage her tarnished reputation and allow her to leave town in a blaze of glory. The unexpected arrival of her cousin Elain, a former Miss Firecracker winner, (who has walked out on her rich but boring husband and her two small children) complicates matters a bit, as does the repeated threat of Elain’s eccentric brother, Delmount, (recently released from a mental institution) to sell the family homestead and decamp for New Orleans. But, aided by a touchingly awkward seamstress named Popeye (who is hopelessly smitten by Delmount) and several other cheerfully nutty characters, Carnelle perseveres—leading to a denouement of unparalleled hilarity, compassion and moving lyricism as all concerned finally escape their unhappy pasts and turn hopefully toward what must surely be a better future.

THE OUTSIDERS - Stage Left Productions -June 5-14, 2025

Directed by Christian Graca

The Outsiders is a searing story of real kids in real situations with real consequences seen through the eyes of young Ponyboy. Territorial battles between the have-it-made rich kids — the Socs — and Ponyboy’s tough, underprivileged “greaser” family and friends are just a part of life. But even in the midst of urban gang warfare, somehow Ponyboy can’t forget a short poem that speaks to their fragile young lives. This heroic story of belonging, friendship, and maintaining hope in the face of struggle is a powerful reminder of what young people encounter every day.
