Too often, senior actors are cast in the background as the quiet grandparent or the fleeting neighbor. Not here. We are thrilled to announce open auditions for Grumpy Old Men: The Musical—a rare, laugh-out-loud production where the seniors completely run the show.
We are seeking dynamic, expressive, and fearless performers to play roles ages 55 and better. Step into the spotlight and breathe new life into these iconic, beautifully flawed, and fiercely funny characters.
Whether you have decades of stage experience or a natural knack for comedy and a desire to try something new, this is your invitation to take center stage.
Come celebrate a heartwarming story that proves the best comedy, the sharpest wit, and the greatest rivalries only get better with age.
Roles Available:
John Gustafson & Max Goldman: The ultimate feuding neighbors. Full of grit, heart, and relentless comedic banter. (Both presents- male, 70s)
Ariel Truax: The eccentric, vibrant, and free-spirited woman who shakes up the neighborhood. (Presents - female 50's+)
Grandpa Gustafson: Wise-cracking, unapologetic, and fiercely funny. (Presents - male 90+)
Melanie Norton: John’s daughter. She is a real estate agent whose marriage is falling apart, and she is looking for a fresh start. (Presents - female, 30-40)
Jacob Goldman: Max’s son. A mild-mannered lawyer who harbors a long-time secret crush on Melanie and is ready for a major life change (Presents - Male, 30-40)
Ensemble: Multiple featured comedic roles for vibrant performers to bring this tight-knit community to life.
