BEAUTIFUL NOISE - THE MUSIC OF NEIL DIAMOND - Copperstate Productions at Fountain Hills Theater - March 12-April 11, 2021

Created by Peter J. Hill

Diamonds are forever!  Music to rock and touch your soul.

Copperstate Productions is proud to announce the return of the musical Beautiful Noise – The Music of Neil Diamond on the Kern Entertainment outdoor stage as a part of our continuing socially distanced theater productions which have included hit productions of 4 on the Floor, Broadway Jukebox, Holly Jolly Christmas and the smash hit Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story.

Rising from humble roots in working-class Brooklyn to global success, Neil Diamond became one of the best-selling recording artists of the 20th century as well as a dynamic, internationally known touring act and skilled songwriter whose compositions produced numerous hits for himself and others. In a career that began in the early 1960s as a staff songwriter at New York's legendary songwriting institution the Brill Building, he soon transitioned into performing and recording his own songs, finding success among the emerging pop singer/songwriter market with early highlights like "Solitary Man" and "Kentucky Woman." Melodic chart-toppers like "Cracklin' Rosie" and "Song Sung Blue" kept him on top and opened the door for ambitious project material like the Grammy Award-winning Jonathan Livingston Seagull soundtrack and 1976's conceptual Beautiful Noise album. Diamond continued to tour, release music, and accumulate impressive honors including his induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Kennedy Center Honors, and a Lifetime Achievement Grammy. During a 2018 world tour celebrating his five decades in music, it was revealed that Diamond had been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, ending his live career. Nevertheless, he remained active in the studio, returning with 2020's Classic Diamonds.

The Copperstate production of Beautiful Noise – The Music of Neil Diamond celebrates the music of this classic American singer/songwriter with a stage production filled with his greatest hits including, “I’m a Believer”, “Sweet Caroline”, “Brother Love’s Travelling Salvation Show”, “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” and many more.

Elizabeth Bridgewater (Disenchanted)
Lacey Dixon (Broadway Jukebox)

BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY - Copperstate Productions at Fountain Hills Theater - January 22 - February 28, 2021

Written by Alan James
Presented by Special arrangement with Buddy Worldwide Limited

Before The Beatles.  Before The Stones.  There was Buddy!

Copperstate Productions is proud to announce the return of the musical Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story.  Presented in 2017, Buddy shattered Fountain Hills Theater box office records and now returns to the outdoor stage as a part of our continuing socially distanced theater productions.

Buddy tells the story in words and music of the last few years of Buddy Holly’s life. We see how he and his childhood high-school friends, the Crickets, turn country music upside down and create a unique style of sound which some called ‘the devil’s music’. We see Buddy’s frustrations at Decca Records, his skill as a songwriter and composer when recording and experimenting with Norman Petty, the excitement he and America felt when “That’ll Be The Day” went to #1, and his naïve determination to be the first white act to play the Apollo. Later we meet Maria Elena, his future wife, and witness his whirlwind romance. Then we are taken on his ill-fated ‘Winter Dance Party’ Tour of 1959. Finally, we are the audience at the Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake, Iowa, where Buddy’s final performance with Ritchie Valens (“La Bamba”) and ‘Big Bopper’ J.P. Richardson (Chantilly Lace”) is recreated, and what in theatre must be one of the most exciting musical concerts of all-time! Features such timeless hits as “Peggy Sue”, “Not Fade Away”, “True Loves Way:, “Everyday” and “Raining in my Heart”.

4 ON THE FLOOR - Fountain Hills Theater - November 13-22, 2020

 By Peter J. Hill

Fountain Hills Theater announces the opening of the new musical comedy 4 on the Floor.
Four auto mechanics in 1969 want to become a rock and roll band, but all they know is cars, chrome and chicks!  Well…they say sing what you know!  While the boys spend their days repairing and singing about cars and dreaming about their calendar girls, this high energy tribute musical features some of the best rock and roll car songs of all time including 409, Hey, Little Cobra, Hot Rod Lincoln, Little Old Lady from Pasadena and many, many more.

Author and Director Peter J. Hill was listening to an NPR report about popular American music.  As expected the number one subject of American music is love.  Number two was cars!!!  This is unique in the world.  Surely Hill thought, there must be a musical revue that featured the American Hot Rod songbook, but to his surprise, there was not.  Setting the story in 1969, he created a tribute show that hits on all cylinders of the big hot rod songs of the 50’s and 60’s, but also includes little known car songs like Under the Wrench, Grandpa’s Advice, One Piece at a Time and The Duct Tape Madrigal.

4 on the Floor is directed by Peter J. Hill, choreographed by Noel Irick and musically directed by Jennifer Adams.

THE CAST: Ben Alker, Raelyn Burkhart, Megan Farrinella, Brian Hoffman, Henry Male, Jerimiah Power, Fallon Smith, Kori Stearns, and William Wadsworth.

This production will be presented on our Outdoor Stage provided by Kern Entertainment, with “Lawn” seating, as well as a limited number of spaces for patrons who wish to enjoy the show from the comfort of their vehicles.

Fountain Hills Theater presents BROADWAY JUKEBOX – DRIVE-IN STYLE!, September 18-October 10

Fri. & Sat. at 7:30pm

No Two Shows are Ever the Same!

BUY TICKETS

Join us as we take a new spin on Peter J. Hill’s award-winning “Jukebox” shows – the DRIVE-IN has returned! $45 per car.

When no two shows are ever the same, it can be – to put it mildly – a challenge. As exciting for the performers as it is for the audience, a great part of the show takes place backstage out of the audience’s sight. Broadway Jukebox requires an amazing cast of actors whose versatility is put to the test each night as they adapt to the demands of each evening’s audience. During the half hour before curtain, the cast mingles with the audience, and collects their jukebox selections for the evening. Those selections are then carried backstage where the choices are quickly tallied and the most requested songs are compiled. With the help of the staff, songs are frantically put in dramatic and comedic order, divided by style, duets and ensemble numbers and then with literally only minutes to go until curtain, the final list is copied on to a giant whiteboard which is posted backstage, just in time for the cast to make their first entrance!

PLEASE NOTE: All possible precautions are being implemented to ensure patrons safety.

PURCHASE TICKETS HERE or call 480.837.9661 x3 and leave a message–we will phone you back. Groups discounts available.
