WILLY WONKA - Limelight Performing Arts - January 16-20, 2019
Limelight Performing Arts’ cast of 35 youth performers will delight everyone’s sweet tooth in “Willy Wonka,” which runs from Jan. 16 to 20 at the Mesa Arts Center.
The musical production shares the adventures of Charlie Bucket on his visit to Willy Wonka's mysterious chocolate factory. It follows enigmatic candy manufacturer, Willy Wonka, as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his famous candy bars.The lucky kids who find these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy.
Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is the ever-likeable Charlie Bucket, who visits the factory with his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory... or suffer the consequences.
Featuring beloved songs from the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder, along with new songs by Leslie Bricusse (“Jekyll & Hyde,” “Doctor Dolittle”) and Anthony Newley, Willy Wonka is a scrumdidilyumptious musical guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth.

Join Junie B. on her first day of first grade, where many changes are in store: Junie's best friend Lucille has found new best friends - and Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. While in Mr. Scary's class Junie has trouble reading the blackboard - and she may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting.
