Auditions for WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL at B3 Theater/Showcase Community Theatre announced for October 11

Auditions for Showcase & B3's co-production of William Shakespeare's Christmas Carol by Ian Doescher, directed by Joey Whelan. 

This production runs from December 13th-22nd. 

Ebenezer Scrooge, a wealthy theatre owner, is a miserable curmudgeon - mistreating his nephew Ferdinand and employee Benedick Cratchit. There is not a generous bone in his body. But why is that? And is it possible for such a man to change his ways? The ghost of Scrooge's former partner, Christopher Marlowe, arrives with a warning: "thou shalt be haunted, man. Three spirits shall come hither, unto thee". 

This play seeks to reimagine the story of Ebenezer Scrooge's brush with the supernatural through a Shakespearean lens. Written mostly in iambic pentameter, this version of Charles Dickens' classic Christmas tale utilizes other characters through Shakespeare's history to re-contextualize the narrative with a unique spin: what if William Shakespeare had written A Christmas Carol? 

Auditions will be held on Friday October 11th from 6pm to 9pm at Shadow Rock UCC, with callbacks on Saturday October 12th from 12pm to 3pm. Please sign up for a 5 minute audition spot and fill out our audition form.

We are asking auditioners to prepare 1 classical Shakespearean monologue of their choice, or they may choose to cold read a monologue chosen from the show by the director.

This classic comedy opens on a friendly card game in the untidy apartment of divorced Oscar Madison. And if the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Ungar, who has just been separated from his wife. Fastidious, depressed, and none too tense, Felix seems suicidal, but as the action unfolds, Oscar becomes the one with murder on his mind when the clean freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together. The action unfolds with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born.

Showcase Community Theatre presents their "Shakespeare Festival"! For one weekend only, come celebrate the bard's birthday with a cabaret-style event where an ensemble of actors portray scenes from and inspired by the works of William Shakespeare. 

This show features scenes and monologues from Romeo and Juliet, Henry V, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Much Ado About Nothing, Othello, and Richard III - with two original short plays taking comedic looks at Macbeth and Hamlet.

Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare

To pass the time until the marriage of Claudio and Hero, Don Pedro and company conspire to set-up Benedick, a self-proclaimed bachelor for life, with his rival Beatrice. This classical comedy has it all: mistaken identity, witty banter, and perhaps even a silly puppet. 

Come see Showcase Community Theatre's production of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Joey Whelan and performed at Ghostlight Theatre. 

The show runs July 8th-25th. Shows will be at 7PM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. 2PM matinees will be performed on Saturdays and Sundays.
