Set in a 1930s European perfumery, SHE LOVES ME follows Amalia and Georg, two salesclerks who aren’t quite the best of friends. After both respond to a "lonely hearts advertisement" in the newspaper, they now live for the love letters that they exchange, but the identity of their admirers remains unknown. But little do they know the anonymous pen pals they have both been falling for happen to be each other! Join Amalia and Georg as they discover the identity of their true loves...and all the twists and turns along the way! An intimate, touching and charming show, featuring music by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick and book by Joe Masteroff. Will love continue to blossom once their identities are finally revealed? Filled with old world charm, elegance and memorable songs "Tonight at Eight," "Vanilla Ice Cream," "Good Morning, Good Day," “Ilona,” "Dear Friend," and "A Romantic Atmosphere." Audition Overview
IMPORTANT DATES: Auditions will be held Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 4-9 pm. Arrive early for paperwork. Callbacks will be by invitation Sunday, April 26, 2026, in the evening if required. First rehearsal will be Monday, May 25, 2026 or Thursday, June 4, 2026 TBD.
ABOUT THE SHOW STYLE FROM THE DIRECTOR: I encourage you to do some research, look up the original book, and/or watch the old films (the Benedict Cumberbatch or Robert Downey, Jr. versions are fine...more for a jumping off point). Our approach will be somewhere between the classic Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes, Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein elements, a bit of Wallace and Gromit, Monty Python, and the madcap comedies of the 1960’s with maybe a hint of Bill Nye the Science Guy. This is a busy, high-energy show, for everyone involved…with a lot of lines to memorize. It will be fun, but possibly also a labor of love.
AUDITION FORMAT & INFO: Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script. PDFs of audition sides will be available for download on the Casting Manager sign-up page no less than 1 week prior to audition. We will read the sides provided, and I will ask you to take some direction and run with it. Looking for performers with comedic timing, big facial expressions, humility, and looking to have fun.
Our goal is to cast the very best actors for each role. Auditions are in-person only; no video submissions. Questions, please contact the Director at vanjrockwell@gmail.com (Subject: Baskerville by Ken Ludwig)
ABOUT THE CHARACTERS & ROLES: We are looking for actors who are willing to take chances, share the fun with both audience and fellow actors, and are willing to engage in what is sure to be an athletic event on stage. Split-second character changes, wigs, moustaches, accents, disguises, beards, and transformations are on the menu. Looking for performers with comedic timing, big facial expressions, humility, and looking to have fun. Roles: (1) actor will play Sherlock Holmes and (1) actor will play John Watson; the rest of the cast plays the remaining (40) characters. The age range listed with each character is the age the character should present on stage, not necessarily the actual age of the actor playing the role.
AUDITION SIDES: Will be posted on the Casting Manager site no later than one week prior to audition. Please prepare the side listed for a particular Actor track(s) that you wish to be considered for. Sides do not need to be memorized.

"Don Bluth Front Row Theatre's production of Ken Ludwig's stage adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel, Treasure Island, is a lively, swashbuckling adventure that delivers exactly what audiences hope for: a fun, rollicking good time anchored by strong performances. While it takes a short while for everything to kick into gear, as soon as that lovable character Long John Silver appears, there is a sense of excitement and theatricality that carries through the production, with engaging storytelling, bursts of humor, and just the right amount of danger to keep things thrilling for audiences of all ages." - Gil Benbrook, TalkinBroadway.com (click here to read the complete review)

"Noël Coward's Blithe Spirit is a classic stage comedy, and the production at Don Bluth Front Row Theatre shows how the play can still charm a modern audience 85 years after it first premiered. Under confident direction and with a fairly strong cast, this drawing-room farce lands its laughs with consistency and style. The cast and production embrace Coward's wit and theatricality which allows the humor, characters, and supernatural experiences to shine....The cast handles Coward's language and rhythmic line delivery with confidence. Mitchell Glass perfectly captures Charles Condomine's smug charm, confusion, and mounting frustration. As Ruth, Charles's second wife, Katie Allen is fantastic, with her composure slowly unraveling as events spiral out of control. Meg Farnsworth Faraoni is a spirited delight as the playful and mischievous Elvira, with a performance that balances flirtation and spite." - Gil Benbrook, TalkinBroadway.com (click here to read the complete review)

SWASHBUCKLING PIRATE ADVENTURE
Ken Ludwig's Treasure Island
An Adventure Adapted from the Novel by Robert Louis Stevenson
Directed by Cheryl Schaar
Set sail on the journey of a lifetime, complete with cutthroat pirates, a treasure map and a courageous boy entangled in a dangerous swashbuckling expedition. A breathtaking yarn of piracy on the high seas, it begins at an inn on the Devon coast of England in 1775 where young Jim Hawkins longs for adventure and embarks on a daring sea voyage to locate an island of buried riches. With his fate sealed, he discovers not only gold and gems but also treachery and mutiny lurking around every corner. At the center of it all is Long John Silver, perhaps the most famous hero-villain of all time, an unscrupulous buccaneer-rogue whose greedy quest for gold, coupled with his affection for Jim, cannot help but win the heart of every soul who has ever longed for romance, treasure and adventure. Treasure Island comes alive for the whole family as an epic theatrical adaptation of one of the world’s great adventure stories.
PARENT ADVISORY: Treasure Island is appropriate for adults and children ages 10 and up. The show is an exciting adventure that contains nautical danger, action-packed fight scenes, mild language and the occasional scallywag that may not be suitable for youngest mateys.

BLITHE SPIRIT - Don Bluth Front Row Theatre - January 22–February 28, 2026
By Noël Coward
Directed by Jere Van Paten
To gather background for his new book, novelist Charles Condomine and his second wife, Ruth, invite the extremely eccentric medium, Madame Arcati, to perform a séance. But Charles’ spiritual skepticism vanishes when the ghost of his deceased first wife, Elvira, accidentally materializes —but only to him. Elvira’s still in love and wants Charles back, and she’s not about to let a little thing like death stand in her way! From the delightfully wicked mind of Noël Coward comes Blithe Spirit, where love and marriage devolve into laughter and mayhem — and ‘Till Death Do Us Part’ no longer applies. As the chaos unfolds, the Coward deftly mixes sharp wit with spectral hijinks, creating an enduring favorite — one of the best loved comedies of all time!
“Blithe Spirit” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com

"There is something undeniably joyful about a good old-fashioned musical comedy, and Crazy for You at Don Bluth Front Row Theatre delivers plenty of that joy. While it may not reach the heights of a truly dazzling production, the Tony-winning musical bursts with upbeat performances and lighthearted charm, with a cast that leans into the humor and energy of the show....The performers bring the central characters to life with warmth and dedication. While Robert Allocca comes across as slightly tentative as Bobby, he shines once he dons the disguise of Bella, where his physical comedy and confidence create a fun, comical character. Polly is played with poise and energy by Yoshi, who anchors the show with her bright and winning singing voice and graceful dancing....a cheerful and tuneful production. While the story may be familiar and the staging here isn't that grand, the combination of talented performers, spirited choreography, and gorgeous costumes makes for a charming evening. Plus, you can't beat those Gershwin songs." - Gil Benbrook, TalkinBroadway.com (click here to read the complete review)
