The Sensory Friendly Performance of A YEAR WITH FROG AT TOAD at Theater Works is today

Today at 2pm we are proud to present our very first sensory friendly performance with our hit musical, A Year With Frog and Toad.

This performance is geared towards those with cognitive disabilities or on the autism spectrum, though will surely be enjoyed by all.

Today's performance features adjusted sound and light levels, available quiet rooms, additional staff and a whole lot of fun.

OSCAR UNMASKED - A One Night Only Benefit Concert featuring the cast of the National tour of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA - June 1

The cast of The Spectacular New Production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA will present a one-night-only cabaret concert ‘Oscar Unmasked’ to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) and the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Arizona (OCAZ) on Monday, June 1st at Playhouse on the Park (Viad Building, 1850 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85004).  Silent action begins at 7:00pm and performance begins at 7:30pm.

PHANTOM cast members will bring the music of the movies to life performing more than 50 pieces featuring Oscar-winning songs including "The Way You Look Tonight," "Over the Rainbow" and "Let It Go." All proceeds of the evening will go to BC/EFA, which supports individuals affected by critical health issues, including but not limited to HIV/AIDS and the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Arizona, which offers help and hope to families affected by ovarian cancer.  The event will also include a pre-show silent auction and live auctions throughout the evening.  All ticket sales and funds raised from this evening are 100% tax deductible and will benefit both organizations.

Tickets to 'Oscar Unmasked' are free for cancer survivors and those continuing to battle the disease. General admission is $40. Premium seating, which includes a PHANTOM tote bag and other special items, is $80.

audition notice - TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD - Zao Theatre - August 3rd and 4th

From our friends at Zao Theatre:

Zao Theater, the newest theatre in the East Valley of Phoenix, announces audition dates for its upcoming production of To Kill A Mockingbird.  The production is directed by Mickey Bryce.

Auditions will be held on Monday, August 3rd from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  Call-backs will be on Tuesday, August 4th, at 6:30 PM.

We are excited to present this stage adaptation of Harper Lee's classic novel.  Zao Theater began with the vision of giving back to the community.  We believe this production will speak about the evils of racism.  It is a gritty depiction of 1935 in the deep south, and the values of truth, colorblindness, love, and  loyalty.

The script calls for children, students, and adults, both Caucasian and African American.
