Athenian Court
Theseus: Duke of Athens, preparing to marry Hippolyta.
Hippolyta: Queen of the Amazons, engaged to Theseus.
Egeus: Hermia’s strict father who demands she marry Demetrius.
Philostrate: Theseus's Master of the Revels (coordinator of wedding events).
The Young Lovers
Hermia: Egeus's daughter, in love with Lysander.
Lysander: Athenian youth in love with Hermia.
Helena: Hermia's friend, hopelessly in love with Demetrius.
Demetrius: Athenian youth initially in love with Hermia, later returning to Helena.
The Fairy Kingdom
Oberon: King of the Fairies.
Titania: Queen of the Fairies.
Puck (Robin Goodfellow): Oberon's mischievous jester and trickster.
Fairies: Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Moth, and Mustardseed (servants to Titania).
The Mechanicals (The Play-Within-a-Play Actors)
Nick Bottom: Overconfident weaver; plays Pyramus.
Peter Quince: Carpenter and director of the play; plays Prologue.
Francis Flute: Bellows-mender; plays Thisbe (a young girl).
Tom Snout: Tinker; plays the Wall.
Snug: Joiner; plays the Lion.
Robin Starveling: Tailor; plays Moonshine.
**At TFT we recognize that age is not always the best metric for show participation. Actors outside the age range may be allowed to participate with prior consent from the director or producer.
