"Fur Elise: The Story of a Masterpiece." Based on the search for "Elise" of Beethoven's famous "Fur Elise," it is scheduled for Nov. 14 and 15, 2026, at the ASU Kerr Cultural Center.

THERESE MALFATTI (later GHOST of THERESE MALFATTI), female
Modestly wealthy Viennese woman in her 20s with the ambition to rise higher. Much higher. Former lover and current student of BEETHOVEN.
LUDWIG van BEETHOVEN, male
38, dark and intense, Europe’s most celebrated composer, gruff and loud, losing his hearing. Endearing and caring only when making or talking about music.
MAELZEL and LUDWIG NOHL (two parts played by one male actor), 40-60. MAELZEL: Inventor and charlatan, friend to BEETHOVEN. NOHL: Viennese musicologist, earnest academic.
ELISE BARENSFELD, female
14-16, starry-eyed student of BEETHOVEN from rural Austria. Need an actress 18-20 who can play much younger.
BABETTE BREDL, female
Middle-aged, middle-class woman, 45-65, with a penchant for chat.
