Jan 29^th – Feb 1^st of 2026 at the Irish Cultural Center at 1106 N Central Ave Phoenix, AZ 85004. 

All roles have a stipend pay of $150 for the full run.

PLAY SYNOPSIS

A family stuck in a horrifying cycle of perpetual mourning throws a party for a dead teenage girl, on what would have been her 30th birthday. When the girl’s former high school sweetheart arrives and drops a major bombshell, the night descends into chaos and forces them to contend with deeply held trauma and disturbing secrets. SHRINES is a play about blurred boundaries, Facebook, and the way we grieve now.

ROLES

LYNN, female, late-fifties. - Abby's Mother

GORDON, male, late-fifties. - Abby's Father

PAUL, male, late 20's-30's - Ex Boyfriend of Beck's younger sister, Abby.

BECKS, female, mid-thirties - Abby's older sister dealing with her own crisis

SPECIAL NOTE: The role of BECKS has already been cast. However, this role is looking for an understudy for 2 performances. Please submit if you are interested in understudying this role.

Also, for roles of Becks and Paul, there are scenes where performers will be in their underwear for an extended time on stage. No nudity but still moments of vulnerability. An Intimacy Director will be provided for the production. 

WHAT TO PREPARE?

Please record 2 contrasting contemporary monologues no longer than 3 minutes total.
