A Spooktacular Night of Music, Mischief, and Shakespearean Magic
This October, Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival (FlagShakes) invites audiences to gather ‘round the cauldron for a night of music, laughter, and delightfully dark fun. Halloween Cabaret 2025 brews together Broadway favorites, Shakespearean mischief, and ghostly surprises in an all-new variety show that revives a beloved Flagstaff tradition once hosted by the former Flagstaff Music Theatre.
“Double, double toil and trouble—music will burn and words will bubble!” That’s the spirit of this year’s cabaret, performed in the intimate and atmospheric Beaver Street Theatre. Local performers Lynn Timmons Edwards, Doug Riddle, Nathan Henderson, Stephen Edwards, and Bill Haworth will conjure songs and stories that blur the line between the eerie and the enchanting.
The evening features classics from Shakespeare’s Macbeth to Little Shop of Horrors and The Monster Mash, with a dash of Poe’s The Raven and a wink to the supernatural. Each act bubbles over with live vocals, literary references, and comic charm as FlagShakes’ resident witches, warlocks, ghosts, and ghouls take center stage.
“This show celebrates everything we love about theatre—community, creativity, and a little chaos,” says FlagShakes Executive Director Dawn Tucker. “It’s funny, musical, a little spooky, and full of heart. And it’s our way of honoring the legacy of Flagstaff Music Theatre while giving it a modern twist.”
Guests are encouraged to dress in costume and join in a suprise audience sing-along song.
