Submission Deadline: September 2nd

Play #1

Remembrance by Cody Goulder
Directed by Van Rockwell

About the Play:

On the night of their one-month anniversary, Blake awaits Conor for a special dinner. He arrives disheveled, blood-stained, and spiraling into paranoia about unseen pursuers. As Conor’s unraveling confession reveals a hit-and-run and hallucinations of Irish folklore creatures, Blake’s true, supernatural nature emerges. In this dark, macabre twist, love, guilt, and vengeance entwine in a deadly bargain made long ago.

Character Breakdown:

Blake (F) — Beautiful, alluring, air of mystery. Confident, controlled, and capable of sudden, chilling shifts in tone. Requires strong emotional range to shift from nurturing to menacing.
Special skills: Ability to convey subtle menace; comfort with staged violence and handling of prop weaponry/blood effects.

Conor Sturges (M) — Handsome, frayed at the edges. Veers between vulnerability, rage, and manic outbursts.
Special skills: Strong capacity for intense emotional transitions, physical acting (struggling, being restrained), and delivering heightened, erratic dialogue believably.

Play #2

Body Count by Ashley Naftule
Directed by Robert Peters

About the Play:

An infamous widow waxes nostalgic about her numerous ex-husbands and the role she played in their not-so-accidental deaths while perusing the shelves of her manor's library.

Character Breakdown:

Red Mary — A woman of regal bearing prone to violent, impulsive passions. Must have red hair or be okay with wearing a wig. Age range can be anywhere from early 30's-50's.

Special skills: This is a one-person short play; seeking an enthusiastic performer seeking this kind of opportunity.

Play #3

Peckish by John Perovich
Directed by Cody Goulder

About the Play:

Late one night, Maeve shows up at her ex’s door — soaked, shaken, and desperate for something to eat after a strange moment at the pub. Declan thinks she’s being dramatic, but something’s not quite normal. Inspired by the Irish myth The Hungry Grass, this darkly funny, creepy tale proves some cravings can’t be humanely satisfied.

Character Breakdown:

Declan — tired, upset, super over the dance of “will-they-won’t-they” with his ex and just wants to go to bed; has a soft spot for Maeve and does want to do the right thing.
Special skills: comfortable with horror/gore; screaming.

Maeve — kind of a mess, passion for life, thrill seeker, bad at boundaries; a bit peckish; is looking for someone who will hold her hand because they want to without being told why they should want to.
Special skills: comfortable with horror/gore.

Play #4

SELFIES written and directed by Angelica Howland

About the Play:

Some people do crazy things to hang on to their youth, but sometimes...crazy makes a dysfunctional friend with the ridiculous. And even...the sinister and irreversible.

Cast Breakdown:

AIDAN — (Female, late 20s, early 30s) Has yet to truly grieve the death of her mother. This has made her dangerously suggestible.
Special Skill: Stage combat.

FINOLA — (Female) A friend of Aidan’s mother. She appears much younger than she actually is.
Special Skill: Stage combat.

THE DEMON — (Any Gender) A thing that has never been of this world, but it is always watching.
Special Skill: Physical flexibility is required for this character; stage combat.

Play #5

The Mastered Piece by E.C. Darling-Bond

Directed by Jonathan Gonzales

About the Play:

After looking for their husband for 33 days, Tanya Bloom found them in the thrall of...something. What price would you pay for inspiration?
