London’s theaters are shuttered due to the plague, leaving the Bard quarantined with his “young” apprentice, Francis. Suddenly, Jane Anger, a cunning woman and writer with ambitions to reshape history, climbs through the window. With her sharp wit and determination, Jane, along with Anne Hathaway (of Stratford, not Hollywood), steps in to upend Shakespeare's attempts at crafting King Lear.
