Auditions for SONGS FROM FILMS at Scottsdale Old Town Theatre Company announced for October 5 & 7

CALL FOR AUDITIONS - Songs From Films.

We're excited about our first production, an innovative revue, SONGS FROM FILMS.

We will host 4 incredible performances at the beautiful and historic ASU Kerr Cultural Center in Scottsdale in January 2026. (Dates: Jan 15 + 17 at 7pm, Jan 17 + 18 at 2pm).

Songs From Film is directed by Mike Arseneault with Music Direction by Thomas Hartwell.

We are looking for 7-8 talented singers who can act (age 21 and over) and sell a song. We will be performing a variety of known songs from iconic musicals and films. Minimal choreography but lots of staged blocking and movement.

Audition dates have been set (Sunday, Oct 5, 1-3pm, and Tuesday, Oct 7, 7-9pm). Rehearsals start October 14.

WHAT TO PREPARE: Please prepare two contrasting songs (ballad and up tempo) showing your versatility. Preferably not Disney. Approximately 32 bars each. One should be from a well known musical that became a film, and the other should be a song created exclusively for a classic film. You can bring your own recorded track and speaker or sheet music for our pianist accompanist. Whatever makes you most comfortable. We want you to shine. If you need suggestions, reach out.

Rehearsals kick-off October 14 - 6-9pm (all required) and regular rehearsals are Tuesdays 6-9pm and Sundays 1-3pm in Scottsdale. Based on the nature of the show, you may not be called for all rehearsals.

SIGN UP TO AUDITION.
If you want to audition, send us an email with a current theatre resume and headshot, and a list of your top 3 favorite songs from groundbreaking musicals (that became films) or memorable song classic created exclusively for a film.

Send your email to scottsdaleOTTC@gmail.com.

Full details and audition forms will be sent to auditionees in September.

This is a volunteer community theatre production and performers are unpaid.

We can't wait to bring this innovative fresh musical revue to Scottsdale and all theatre lovers in the valley.
