Childsplay's YETi Hiring Director for their Spring Show, SHE KILLS MONSTERS: YOUNG ADVENTURER'S EDITION

YETi, the teen theatre troupe hosted by Childsplay, is THRILLED to announce our Spring Production. 

We are seeking a director for the Spring production of: She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurer's Edition.

Application Deadline: We will be accepting applications through at least December 1st. We may extend the deadline. Feel free to reach out to check!

Auditions: Will be some time in March or April

Rehearsals: 2-3 times a week. One day must always be on Saturday around 1 PM

Tech: June 9-14

Show dates: June 14-23 (Directors aren't expected to attend shows)

Compensation: About $1200.00

Responsibilities:

Director is responsible to holding auditions and callbacks and deciding the logistics of it. Directors will need to participate in bi-weekly production meetings and communicate the director’s vision. They will be in charge of creating the rehearsal schedule and managing what happens during rehearsal time. They will be in charge of supervising minors and keeping them safe while they are in our care. The director will also work with a student assistant-director as a mentor, a stage manager, and a student assistant stage manager.

About the show:

She Kills Monsters tells the story of high schooler Agnes Evans as she deals with the death of her younger sister, Tilly. When Agnes stumbles upon Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge. In this high-octane dramatic comedy laden with homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and ’90s pop culture, acclaimed playwright Qui Nguyen offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek and warrior within us all.
