Auditions for SILENT SKY and SOMETHING'S AFOOT at Glendale Community College announced for December 4


The Award Winning GCC Theatre Arts & Film Program is pleased to announce auditions for their 
2024 Spring Theatre Productions: 

SILENT SKY by Lauren Gunderson

The true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt explores a woman’s place in society during a time of immense scientific discoveries, when women’s ideas were dismissed until men claimed credit for them.

Directed by: Lesley Tutnick-Machbitz
Performance dates: February 28-March 2

And

SOMETHING'S AFOOT Book, Music and Lyrics by James McDonald, David Vos and Robert Gerlach Additional Music by Ed Linderman

A zany, entertaining musical that takes a satirical poke at Agatha Christie mysteries and musical styles of the English music hall of the 1930s. Ten people are stranded in an isolated English country house during a raging thunderstorm. One by one, they’re picked off by cleverly fiendish devices. 

Directed by David Seitz, Musical Direction by Ken Goodenberger
Performance dates: April 5-6th and April 11-13.

Audition Sign Up:  appointment recommended but not required to audition. Please note: those without appointments may need to wait - 


Audition Requirements for either production
  • Please prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue or a cold read we give you.
  • Please bring your headshot and résumé.
  • Before you perform, you must include a verbal slate.
Additional Audition Requirement for the Musical Production
  • 32 Bars of a “Golden Age” song (either a capella or with recorded music you provide)
CALLBACKS FOR SILENT SKY WILL BE HELD on Tuesday, December 5th @ 4:30 pm @ GCC PAC
  • You will perform cold reads from the script.
  • Please bring your schedule of conflicts.
CALLBACKS FOR SOMETHING’S AFOOT WILL BE HELD on Wednesday, December 06 @ 3:30pm @ GCC PAC  
  • You will perform cold reads from the script.
  • Please be prepared to dance.
  • You will perform portions of the song score.
  • Please bring your schedule of conflicts.
