Two Arizona high school students are headed to New York City and Broadway to compete in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, known as The Jimmy Awards

Tre Moore from ASU Prep Polytech High School and Haley Raffaele from Maricopa High School were named Best Lead Male and Female leads Saturday night at the ASU Gammage High School Musical Theatre Awards.

Hundreds of students hit the red carpet to celebrate musical theater and completed in the annual event at ASU Gammage with dozens of on stage performances.

Chandler High School was also awarded Best Musical for their production of LEGALLY BLONDE

Tre and Haley, along with 90 other students across the country, will head to Broadway to compete in the thirteenth annual Jimmy Awards ceremony set to take place on Monday, June 27, 2022 as they make their debut on a Broadway stage in the talent showcase at the Minskoff Theatre.

During this unforgettable event, a panel of judges will choose two students for the coveted awards of Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress. Participants in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards will be in New York City from Monday, June 20, 2022 through Tuesday, June 28, 2022. In addition to performing in the awards ceremony, students will participate in master classes and receive training and preparation with Broadway coaches and accomplished professionals.
