AUDITION INFO

Looking for performers with Comedic Timing, Lively Facial Expressions, Humility, and Looking To Have Fun. Any thoughts of this being a drama in the vein of Crimes Of The Heart are hugely mistaken.

Plus… Southern accents are NOT required. :) If you have one, awesome! If not, that's awesome too!

Callbacks will consist of cold-reads from the script and will be provided in advance, but will be done in groups.

Masks are welcomed for your safety and concern.

Actors of all races, ethnicities, sizes, abilities, and genders (conforming and non-conforming) are encouraged to audition.

SYNOPSIS

When the biggest highlight in your life for the past (30) years has been your weekly bridge night out with the "girls," what do you do when one of your foursome inconveniently dies? If you're Connie, Leona and Millie, three ladies from Birmingham, you do the most daring thing you've ever done. You "borrow" the ashes from the funeral home for one last card game, and the wildest, most exciting night of your lives involves a police raid, a stripper, and a whole new way of looking at all the fun you can have when you're truly living. Exit Laughing broke all records for a nonmusical in Springfield Little Theatre's (50) year history at its premiere.

CHARACTERS

Rachel (F) (18-25) – a young woman who seems to have issues with life and men, until bridge night opens her eyes.

Connie (F) (40-60) – Rachel’s mother, who finds on this fateful bridge night that life doesn’t end at (55).

Leona (F) (40-60) – One of Connie’s closet friends and a member of the Bridge Club for over (30) years. She’s a beautician by profession and a rather caustic lush by preference.

Millie (F) (40-60) - Another one of Connie’s friends and a long-standing member of the club. This is a woman who moves to her own drummer, even though she’s the only one who can hear him.

Policeman/Bobby (M) (18-30) – Rachel’s love interest and a male stripper. This role will require appearing in boxer shorts (and nothing else) for a brief moment in the show.
