Kids and teens on the spectrum can discover the world of theater in a safe environment.
Arizona Broadway Theatre’s production of the Broadway musical hit, The SpongeBob Musical, will host a special performance for children on the autistic spectrum and their families and friends to experience live theatre. The musical numbers will be adjusted to cater to the sensory sensitivities of the audience.
Thursday, July 7 | 1 p.m.
$15 per person | Limited Seating | General admission
Limited tickets are available by contacting Guest Services at the Box Office either by phone (623.776.8400) or in-person (Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.). Each ticket is $15 and general admission. The event will be one to one and half hours long which includes selected numbers from the show, a welcome speech and a Talk Back with the cast at the end. Parents can visit the website to review what to expect and “what you will do” steps when you arrive to help with making the day more enjoyable for everyone.
What to expect during the performance
Stage lights adjusted (no flashing lights/strobes).
House lights will be up. This is where the audience will be seated.
The volume will be lowered. It is recommended if you have earphones to bring them if needed.
The theatre seats 450; we will limit the capacity to 300. Tickets will be general admission.
1 to 1½ Hours for the performance which includes an introduction and welcome to Arizona Broadway Theatre and a Talk Back with the cast after the last performance.
Arizona Broadway Theatre has a wonderful lobby area to take a break, restrooms, and a lobby bar to enjoy a cold beverage.
A SpongeBob coloring sheet will be available to make the visit more enjoyable.
