Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, the Tony Award-winning Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical is the captivating masterpiece that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life.
Matilda is a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She's unloved by her cruel parents but impresses her schoolteacher, the highly loveable Miss Honey. Over the course of her first term at school, Matilda and Miss Honey have a profound effect on each other's lives, as Miss Honey begins to not only recognize but also appreciate Matilda's extraordinary personality. Matilda's school life isn't completely smooth sailing, however – the school's mean headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and just loves thinking up new punishments for those who don't abide by her rules. But Matilda has courage and cleverness in equal amounts, and could be the school pupils' saving grace!
Packed with high-energy dance numbers, catchy songs! Children and adults alike will be thrilled and delighted by the story of the special little girl with an extraordinary imagination.

CASTING INFORMATION
As a theater for, of, and in our community, Theater Works strives to practice inclusive casting. Inclusive casting for us means casting actors of color, actors with disabilities, trans and gender non-conforming actors, and other members of historically and currently marginalized communities. We invite actors of all races, ethnicities, body types, gender identities, and physical abilities to audition. Unless a role is specified by the playwright, we will keep character auditions open to all. However, we will make sure to never take opportunities away from underrepresented communities in established roles. When scheduling auditions, we offer accessibility accommodations and, if needed, more information on the process or role. As a community theater, Theater Works recognizes that the community is diverse and dynamic and aims to create art in a safe space for all.
Theater Works is working to create space to stop, listen and be receptive to the voices of the communities we serve. We acknowledge there have been and will be missteps along the way. We strive to learn, make changes, and do better to create a safe space for all artists to thrive. We encourage all of you to audition for us.
