Audition submissions for Off Stage Swing for the new musical, MAD HATTER THE MUSICAL at Herberger Theater due by March 27

CALLING ALL THOSE WHO WANT TO FLY OFF TO WONDERLAND

MAD HATTER THE MUSICAL, directed and choreographed by Joe Barros, Music, Book and Lyrics by Vincent Connor, Michael J. Polo, and Victor Valdez. It’s a top-notch team across the board, and will feature some fantastic New York actors from the Broadway stage, mixed with talented local artists in Phoenix.

Our cast is almost complete! We are still seeking a Phoenix actor to be the OFF-STAGE SWING for the Male-Identifying ensemble. This process will move rather quickly, as rehearsals begin soon.

This is going to be one ‘heck-of-a’ magical production and me/my casting team would love to see you be a part of it. All auditions will be virtual. Project info is below.

Please email Amber Sneed at asnead@castingbyarc.com asap if you are interested in auditioning for this new version of the iconic classic!

Submissions due by Wednesday, March 27

SWING, male-identifying to play 20’s-40’s in various roles. This track will cover 3 ensemble roles as well as Franklin’s Father.

[FRANKLIN’S FATHER] –.FRANKLIN’S FATHER, male-identifying. 40 years old. The Mad Hatter’s father, senile. Grungy, hatter, stoic, angry, drunk. Baritone.

[M. IDENTIFYING ENSEMBLE] - Wonderlandonians! Ensemble characters sometimes act as “greek chorus” to narrate the show while other times they are embedded in the drama, depicting locals of Wonderland. Vibrant characters with varying voice types. Members of the ensemble are required to dance and sing in harmony.

Please prepare the material for FRANKLIN’S FATHER (the side and song “HUNTING RABBITS”), which can be found in the Bartholomew folder. In addition to this, please tape the dance combo along with a brief cut of a contemporary musical theatre song from your book.

Please submit the tapes as separate files, meaning don’t edit them altogether into one video. Please keep each side and song separate.
