B3 Theater's 2024/2025 Season!

B3 Theater, Inc. Announces Its 8th Incredible Season

B3 Theater, a Phoenix area-based independent theater that concentrates on giving people a voice who may not otherwise have one, announces its 8th Season of shows.

Starting the season in August is a co-production with Space 55 and Metropolitan Arts Institute:  Midnight Oil, a 24/48 Hour Theater and Film Challenge, headed by Artistic Directors BJ Garrett and Eliana Burns.  This will be the second year of this collaboration.  For the stage portion, a group of writers are paired up with a director and a randomly chosen group of actors.  The writer must tailor their writing for their unique group of talent, and it goes from prompt to finished product in 24 hours.  For the films, production companies submit a freshly made short movie which goes from writing and shooting to editing in the space of 48 hours.

Then, in September, we have a modern take on Shakespeare’s Richard II.  The story of a childish and petulant king who matures when faced with death, this beautifully written piece features some little-staged but earthshattering insights on politics from the Bard.  Being an election year, B3 has chosen very carefully which Shakespeare to bring to its audiences.

December will bring a Christmas piece which is inventive and amusing:  William Shakespeare’s A Christmas Carol by Ian Doescher.  It tells the story of A Christmas Carol as if written by Shakespeare with Shakespeare’s characters.  A co-production with Showcase Theater, this production will bring together two iconic troupes and highlight both of their strengths.  It will be a literary celebration which carries the theme of classical adaptations through the season.

The Laugh Your Shorts Off Festival, B3 Theater’s eighth festival of short will arrive in January. This festival will feature several new work shorts, guaranteed to make you laugh.

In April, comes The Just by Albert Camus, translated by Suzanne M. Saunders. This play by the highly influential French philosopher, explores ideas of political violence, morality, and many themes all too relevant in today’s sociopolitical environment.

Finally, in June, there will be a mix of voices presented in Intersectional: Festival of Feminist and Queer Theater. B3 Theater’s second festival of feminist theater will present several feminist and queer stories. These will focus on themes of intersectionality, the study or understanding of overlapping social identities that create unique experiences and perspectives.
