INTO THE WOODS
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece… and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.
The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King’s Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch’s curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone’s wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
CASTING AGES 10-99
We plan to DOUBLE CAST this show. There will be a TEEN cast and an ADULT cast.
AUDITIONS by video due August 13th at 6pm
AUDITIONS in person (limited spots by appointment only) August 13 from 6-9pm
CALLBACKS: Friday, August 16 from 6-9pm
CAST MEETING: Tuesday, August 20 at 5:30pm.
FIRST REHEARSAL: Wednesday, August 21 at 6pm.
PERFORMANCES AT STUDIO 3: October 26-November 10, 2024
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE: Will be Wednesdays 6-10pm, Fridays 6-10pm, Saturdays (9am-2pm, and may include some Sundays (2-6pm *but let us know if you cannot do this day) beginning August 21.
Scheduling Note: Not everyone will be called for all rehearsals. Younger ensemble performers will be released earlier on weeknights. We can schedule around students who cannot make it at 4pm due to school, etc.
The participation fee for this show is $300 (teens 18 and under) and includes a cast shirt and cast photo. Scholarships are available. Please inquire for details.
WHAT TO PREPARE:
SING – One minute of a Sondheim song, or something of similar difficulty.

There is no monologue and no dance required for this audition.
