SYNOPSIS
The World According to Snoopy is the sequel to You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and focuses on the life of the world's most famous beagle - Snoopy! Based on the beloved Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz, this fun musical sparkles with wit and warmth and contains over 15 toe-tapping tunes performed by Charlie Brown, Lucy, Sally, Linus, Peppermint Patty, Woodstock, and one loveable beagle.
CHARACTERS
All roles require strong singer/actors, with decent movement/dance abilities.
SNOOPY
CHARLIE BROWN
LUCY
SALLY
PEPPERMINT PATTY
LINUS
WOODSTOCK - this is a non-speaking role, but the character uses lots of physical comedy incorporating acrobatics, gymnastics, mime and dance.
WHAT TO PREPARE FOR AUDITIONS:
Please bring a headshot (it doesn't have to be professional. Just a good photo that looks like you!) and an acting or theater resume.
For the general auditions, there are 2 parts to prepare…
(Note: even if you are only interested in ‘Woodstock’, please prepare the following.)
Part 1 - Please prepare a monologue
- a memorized or well prepared monologue from the monologues provided at this link…
- Make strong character choices with your voice, gestures and facial expressions as you perform in your audition.
Part 2 - Please prepare a song
- Choose a 30-45 secs segment of a musical theater song that best highlights your singing voice. We would prefer no acapella singing. (Choose a song that is appropriate for your vocal range, and make strong character choices with your voice, gestures and facial expressions as you perform in the audition)
- We will have a piano accompanist present, so bring well marked sheet music to give to the pianist.
- Or use a backing track (karaoke track) and have it cued to the portion of the song you will use. You will only sing 30-45 secs, so choose a segment that highlights your singing. A bluetooth speaker will be available for playback of your backing tracks.
