"It may not have much of a plot and the character development is minimal, but with a nonstop score of hard-rocking hit songs from Green Day, including "Holiday," "Wake Me Up When September Ends," "21 Guns," and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," American Idiot is a raw and emotionally stirring musical that touches on the innocence of young adults in America today. Having a group of performers in their late teens and early twenties cast for this show adds an appropriate level of innocence and believability that results in a rough yet energetic and passionately powerful production from Scottsdale Community Players....Jack Walton is outstanding as the slacker Johnny. Walton's ability to effectively depict Johnny's vulnerability, his constant need to make rash decisions that are bad, and his sense of lost dreams is quite effective. His singing voice sounds great and he accompanies himself on the guitar for several songs with accomplished playing. It's an all-around wonderful performance of this lost individual that many will identify with. "  - Gil Benbrook, TalkinBroadway.com (click here to read the complete review)
