The Prince of Egypt is a 2021 stage adaptation of the Dreamworks animated motion picture of the same name. The biblical story of Moses & Ramses — their maturation into leaders, and Moses's deliverance of the Hebrew people out of Egypt — is brought to life through the music of Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell).

Fans of the movie will recognize powerful musical numbers (“Deliver Us”, “Through Heaven’s Eyes”, “When You Believe”), interspersed with brand new songs for the stage (“Footprints on the Sand”, “Make It Right”, “Never In a Million Years”).

AZMTO’s private, just-for-fun educational reading will feature a workshopped script and score from the late 2010s. Join pianists Jon Lang and Stefan Mladenov on a journey to the Promised Land!

Actors, singers, and instrumentalists ages 11+ with a passion for music and theatre are encouraged to participate!

Our 5-minute applications are free and do not require any formal audition. Music is available immediately, and practice is done on-your-own using cast recordings as reference. Sheet music reading skills are strongly recommended.

AZMTO: UNDERSCORE allows all professional & amateur singers/actors a chance to develop their musical theatre reading skills. There are no tickets and no formal audience, and readings are performed classroom-style with SATB Chorus and piano only. No sets, props, or costumes are used, and AZMTO does not profit from UNDERSCORE events.

Visit www.azmto.org or email stephen@azmto.org for more information.

AZMTO is committed to authentically-inclusive storytelling. BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists are encouraged to apply.
