Midnight Oil: A Theatre and Film Challenge, is hosted by BJ Garrett and Space 55, John Perovich and Metropolitan Arts Institute, and Ilana Lydia and B3 Theater, Inc.
In the tradition of other 24/48 hour challenges, this event will bring together 6 theater writers, 6 theater directors, and a pool of talented actors to create 6 plays in 24 hours. The film crews will work separately, and have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film. Both groups will be given prompts: a line, a prop, and a theme to include — and like other 24/48 hour challenges, this one promises to be a load of fun!
Playwrights include: James Garcia, Angelica Howland, Shelby Maticic, Ashley Naftule, Kyle Olson, and John Perovich. Directors of the plays include: Victor Arevalo, Cody Goulder, Kim Porter, Lorraine Taylor, Carlin Thomas, and Susan Xu.
Casting is going on now for the theatre portion, and interested parties should fill out the form here: https://forms.gle/cCC3dp84dDT3S2Qb9.
