Auditions for SEE HOW THEY RUN at Inspire Theatre Company announced for February 24 & 25



Audition sign-ups and information for the hilarious farce, See How They Run, are now up on the Inspiretheatre.org website! Auditions will be held February 24th and 25, with callback scheduled for the 27th.

“See How They Run”, a British farce by Philip King, is set in an idyllic country parish in post World War II England. The neighborhood spinster jumps to conclusions about the beloved vicar's new actress-wife and attempts to expose her follies. Add a handsome actor, a puzzled priest, a befuddled bishop, and an escaped spy,..and hilarious confusion and mad-cap mayhem result in this rollicking comedy.                 

Character Breakdown:

Penelope Toop: Mid 20s –mid 30. American wife and former actress. Vivacious, charming, free-spirited.

Ida: Late teens -early 20s.  A dutiful house maid & spunky village girl. Speaks her mind, cockney accent.

Miss Skillon:  Mid 30s – mid 40s. Sour, self righteous spinster & busy-body. Gets very drunk.

Reverend Lionel Toop:  Mid – late 30s. Pleasantly dignified vicar of the parish. Loses his composure & his pants.

Corporal Clive Winton: Mid 20s -30s. Actor friend of Penelope’s, now in the army. Dashing and witty.                                            
Bishop of Lax: 50s. Imposing & dignified, until he loses it. (Acts 2 & 3)                            

The Man:  30s-40s. Escaped prisoner, possibly demented, Russian accent. (Act 2 & 3)

Reverend Arthur Humphrey:.40s-50s. Mild-mannered man, becomes bewildered. (Act 3 only)                                           

Sergeant Towers: 40s-50s. Cockney Police Officer. Oafish and self-important. (Act 3 only)
