Auditions for ON GOLDEN POND at Don Bluth Front Row Theatre announced for April 2

Sunday, April 2nd
Audition for ON GOLDEN POND

About the Show:
ON GOLDEN POND by Ernest Thompson

Director: Diedra Celeste Miranda

Synopsis:
Retired New England professor Norman Thayer and his spirited wife Ethel return to their summer home on the shores of idyllic Golden Pond for the forty-eighth year. Even with his memory failing, cantankerous Norman is still as tart-tongued, observant, and eager for life as ever. Ethel, ten years younger, the perfect foil for Norman, delights in all the small things that have enriched their long life together. Enroute to a European vacation, the couple's estranged daughter Chelsea arrives to leave behind her fiancé's teenage son, Billy. Generations collide but soon forge common ground as Norman and "the grandson they never had" learn a thing or two from each other. And Chelsea hopes to repair the long-strained relationship with her aging father before it's too late. A tender, touching and humorous tale with themes of mortality, enduring love and forgiveness that all play out on Golden Pond.

Still very much in love with Ethel, his wife.

ETHEL THAYER. Age 69. Still very pretty and youthful. A determined woman. Direct in her communication. Energetic, active, and bright. Positive Attitude. Full of life spirit. Very caring and very loving. She is still very much in love with Norman.

CHARLIE MARTIN. Age 44. The local mailman by boat delivery. Physically tall. He is charming with smiling eyes. He is simple and thoughtful. Not sophisticated. Tends to laugh a lot. A long-time family friend. Still single. He has had a crush on Chelsea forever.

CHELSEA THAYER WAYNE. Age 42. An attractive woman. Not thin or skinny. Shapely. A divorcee. She has a nervous edge to her presence. Carries a chip on her shoulder. Intense. Still dealing with past issues with her father, Norman. Though she does have a sense of humor.
