About the Show:
Inspired by a simple, poignant letter written over 100 years ago by 8-year-old Virginia O'Hanlon to the editor of the New York Sun—and by the timeless editorial response printed on the front page of the Sun. Virginia wondered and wrote: "Dear Editor, I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says if you see it in the Sun, it's so. Please tell me the truth. Is there a Santa Claus?" Ed Mitchell, the Sun's editor, gives the assignment of answering Virginia's letter to Frank Church who, until his wife and baby died last Christmas Eve, was the Sun's best and most dependable reporter. Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus is a play for young and old, magically reaffirming life's highest beauty and joy—"the eternal light with which childhood fills the world."
Audition Details
All auditions are via VIDEO submission due October 9 at 11:59pm
Additional videos will be considered through October 14
Callbacks Monday, October 11 from 12-1pm OR Saturday, October 16 from 9am - 10:30am
First Rehearsal Friday, October 22 at 5pm.
Performances December 10-19 at the Studio 3 Artspace Theater. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. You can request.conflicts for Sunday performances
AUDITIONS for Newsies (Musical)
About the Show:
Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!
Audition Details:
All preliminary auditions are done by video except the dance portion
Dance Audition option 1: Monday, October 11 from 9am-10am
Dance Audition option 2: Tuesday, October 12 from 6-7pm
If you cannot attend one of these dance calls, please let us know.
Video auditions are due by October 14 at 11:59pm
Callbacks
Option 1: Monday, October 11 from 10am-12pm
Option 2: Saturday, October 16 from 1-3pm.
Possible added callbacks as needed Sunday, October 17 from 4-6pm

First Rehearsal Wednesday, November 3
Performances January 6-16 at the Mesa Arts Center Thursdays through Sunday. You can request conflicts on Sunday performances.
