We are thrilled to be the first theatre and educational institution in Arizona to be granted the royalty rights from New York to produce The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. The ongoing COVID pandemic has had a profound effect on the performing arts worldwide; plus the pandemic, unfortunately, continues to affect all areas of education.

After more than 18 months of darkness, live theatre is re-emerging; so, it was our goal to bring light and joy back into the community through this medium. Therefore, we chose The Lightning Thief with its comedic undertones and upbeat rock music score.

This "winning adaptation" (Hollywood Reporter) of Rick Riordan's best-selling Disney-Hyperion novel is "compelling for fans and new audiences alike!” This is a "thoroughly endearing family-friendly musical" (Charles Isherwood, Broadway News) with "one foot in Harry Potter and another in Dear Evan Hansen" (Chicago Tribune).

The show intertwines the fantasy world of Greek mythology with modern-day teenage angst, all while creatively addressing timely issues, such as the social stigma of ADHD, dyslexia, autism, and mental illness. Likewise, we, as educators and performing artists, look for ways to accept and embrace the myriad ethnic and gender spectrum populations, while each of us individually experiences personal and interpersonal paradigm shifts within our society.

*Please reserve seats in advance. Due to COVID-19 protocol, seating is limited, and unreserved admission may not be available at the time of the performance.
