by William Shakespeare
Nesbitt/Elliott Playhouse
The first installment of what is widely acknowledged to be Shakespeare’s greatest historical saga, Henry IV Part I is an epic tale of power, treachery and war, and exploring the complexity of father-son relationships. Prince Hal seems to be squandering his life along with the greatest of rogues, Sir John Falstaff, a liar, glutton, lecher, cheat, braggart, fool and sponger. Beside these scenes of glorious misrule gathers a nationwide rebellion that will test King Henry and his heir, Prince Hal.
