Studio 3 is here with some amazing workshop offerings to help you gain confidence in your auditions, build a portfolio of acting materials, and discover the top tips for realistic, genuine acting.

Jr Character Development Workshop
Time Commitment: 3 Fridays – September 1, 8, 15 from 4:30-6pm
Age/Level: Suggest Actors ages 6-12
Instructor: Jamie Bauer-Spano
Description: This is a MUST-take class for anyone looking to build their acting technique this season. When you’re building a character, you want to spend as much time developing the outside as the inside.Learn to physicalize AND vocalize different characters and how you can apply that in an audition or performance setting. We’ll teach you how to build your character’s reality and portray realistic, believable character traits.
Cost: $50 per person.

Description: Mastering the audition and acing the CALLBACK! One-day workshops are fun and intense experiences that heighten learning and produce noticeable improvement in skill and craft. Exposure to master teachers from NYC offer a unique opportunity to expand range and depth instilling confidence and broadening repertoire. Students will learn what casting directors are looking for, how to audition properly with cold copy and rehearsed material, find appropriate song choices as well as breaking down the acting of their song. Material will be given in advance so we can concentrate on preparing for a callback and acing the audition!

Denise Simon, acting coach and career consultant, is a veteran of the industry as an actress, teacher, director, and personal talent manager. Her clients appear on Broadway, TV, and film, and have included Scarlett Johansson, Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino, and Judy Reyes (NBC’s Scrubs), among others. She also coaches college bound students to prepare them for theatre and musical theatre auditions. Denise’s on-set coaching credits include Fox’s “The Following” as well as the award winning TV show “Teen Kids News.” She is an expert contributor to Backstage Magazine.
