BEN BUTLER by Richard Strand
Directed by Lee Cooley
SYNOPSIS
When an escaped slave shows up at Fort Monroe demanding sanctuary, General Benjamin Butler is faced with an impossible moral dilemma that could alter the course of history. This sharply comic play takes place during the Civil War. It’s a battle of wit and word play as the characters spar over respect and equality.
