"Beautiful: The Carole King Musical is a moving document of how King initially found success as a songwriter, having written or co-written dozens of hugely popular pop songs for other artists, before ultimately finding her voice and a huge following as an award-winning performer. The national tour of this crowd-pleasing show is in town for just three days with a wonderful performance by Kennedy Caughell as King. Arizona native James D. Gish is equally as good as King's songwriting partner Gerry Goffin...provides audiences the chance to learn more about this famous woman who faced personal setbacks while creating some of the most beloved songs of the pop and early rock eras. It's a feel good show with dozens of well-known songs and a wonderful reminder to try to find the beautiful things in life even when things don't go exactly the way you planned."   -Gil Benbrook, Talkin' Broadway (click here to read the complete review)

"Carole King might be the most agreeable, gracious, and modest title character in the history of Broadway musicals. The bio-musical BEAUTIFUL: THE Carole King STORY is an oversimplification of the songwriter's life, but the moving performance by Kennedy Caughell from vulnerable to radiant fills in the lean script. James D. Gish, Kathern Boswell, and James Michael Lambert expertly carry their weight and support her with authentic emotional arcs and clear passion for the material and the real-life history they are telling. ..." Broadway World (click here to read the complete review)
