Laughing Pig Theatre's Pay-What-You-can Workshop Series

Laughing Pig Theatre’s first of their 2019 pay-what-you-can Workshop Series on March 23, from 1PM-5PM

Come learn from the incredible Dr. Abbigail Cote.

Dr. Abbigail Coté is the Director of Vocal Studies at Eastern Washington University. She works as a professional voice teacher and coach in musical theatre, opera, classical, liturgical, and the art song mediums. Abbigail earned her Masters in Opera Direction from Florida State University and a Doctorate in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Oregon. Her doctoral research focused on historical and current approaches to vocal onset and practices for teachers who are interested in developing their own methodologies. Abbigail has studied voice with Stanford Olsen, Richard Nickol, Julia Hunt- Nielson, David Jones, and Robert Browning. Abbigail also continues to work as a director for local theatre and international stages. Her last large work, LAW AND OPERA, featured Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

During this workshop, she will take attendees through different breathing exercises, where they will learn to support and use voice. Abbigail will also help attendees with a piece of their choosing, and teach them how to properly prepare it (whether it is for a performance or an audition). No experience necessary.

DIRECTIONS: This workshop will take place in the Music Studio at the Mesa Arts Center. The Music Studio is on the second floor of Studio South above the Ceramic Studio across from the main theatre building.
