Theater Works is proud to announce a special performance of the family friendly musical A Year with Frog and Toad on May 23rd. The sensory friendly performance will feature modified lighting levels in the house, adjusted sound cues and alternate lighting cues. There will also be Quiet Rooms available for students who may need a break or feel overwhelmed by the production. This will let them have a quiet period before trying to re-enter the production. Theater Works will also open up additional handicap parking for the May 23rd event as well as extra trained staff to help facilitate the front of house operations that day.
In preparation for the sensory sensitive A Year with Frog and Toad performance we will be hosting the GREET YOUR SEAT OPEN HOUSE on Saturday, April 25th from 10am - 12pm
It is a chance for families and organizations interested in our sensory friendly performance on May 23rd to explore the theater, see where they will be sitting, figure out parking and all the things that we think mundane but that can really impact an outing for a person with sensory sensitivities. Staff will be available to answer questions and we will be featuring an open rehearsal for those two hours of A Year With Frog and Toad.
The box office will also be open for tickets and patrons can see and experience their seats ahead of time.
During this special GREET YOUR SEAT OPEN HOUSE performers will highlight some songs from the actual performance. There will be information packets available dedicated to sensory needs and theater performances. A parent /guardian tip sheet and activities will be provided to to help ensure the best experience possible.
