Adult Singing/Acting Call –
Saturday, May 2nd @ 11:00am or Sunday, May 3rd @ 7:00pm

The following roles only need to attend the singing/acting call:
Mama Rose, Herbie, Jocko/Goldstone/Pastey, Pop/Cigar, Weber/Kringelein/Phil, Miss Cratchitt/Renee
Children’s Call –
Saturday, May 2nd @ 12:30am or Sunday, May 3rd @ 5:00pm
(All all children need to be prepared to sing and dance)
The following are the children’s roles:
Baby June, Baby Louise, Newsboys, Balloon Girl/Baby June & Louise U/S
Callbacks -
Monday May 4th @ 8:00pm

Audition Requirements -
Dancing
The dance calls will start promptly at their designated times. Please be ready to start on time and wear dance appropriate clothes and shoes. All adult women should wear character heels if possible. Everyone who attends the dance call needs to stay and sing. Please see the singing requirements below. But you do not need to schedule your audition time. You will sing following the dance call.
Singing/Acting
Singing/acting auditions for all non-dancing roles, will be by appointment only. Please email to auditions@scottsdalemusicaltheater.com or call (602) 909-4215 or to schedule your audition time. Audition times will be assigned every 5 minutes. You will need to have sheet music in the proper key. No cds or acapella singing will be allowed. Please have 1 ballad and 1 upbeat ready, an accompanist will be provided. Please do not sing anything from the show. For singers, you may also be asked to do a monologue, not to exceed 1 minute, so please have one prepared just in case.
For all non-singing adult roles, please have ready 2 contrasting monologues, not to exceed 1 minute each. You may not be asked to do both, but please have 2 ready.
For children, please have one song prepared, not to exceed 32 bars. Again, no cds or acapella singing will be allowed. Girls auditioning for Baby June or Baby Louise need to also have a monologue ready.
Performance Dates -
August 20th – 23rd
Rehearsals start -
Early July and will be on Tuesday and Thursday nights and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. All rehearsals will be held at Conservatory of Dance. Not all roles will be required at all rehearsals. There will be a rehearsal schedule available at auditions to check potential conflicts.
