The Music Man/ Footloose/ The Little Mermaid Auditions
Audition Overview
Hale Centre Theatre will hold combined auditions for The Music Man (March 31, 2022 - May 7, 2022), Footloose (May 12, 2022- June 25, 2022), and The Little Mermaid (June 30, 2022 - August 13, 2022).
All performances are Wednesdays- Saturday nights with Saturday matinees, and some Friday matinees at 4pm. The Music Man and Footloose are directed and choreographed by Cambrian James, with music direction by Dr. Cathy Hauan, and casting directors David and Corrin Dietlein. Little Mermaid is directed and choreographed by Cambrian James, with music direction by Lincoln Wright, and casting directors David and Corrin Dietlein. These productions will have swings who double in the ensemble.
In-person auditions are available by appointment on January 15th. Walk-ins welcome. A video submission may be submitted in lieu of an in-person audition. Please check the "What to Prepare" tab for instructions, and submit your video through Casting Manager. Video submissions are due by January 15th at 10:00 AM. Important: if submitting your video audition select the "Video Appointment" box on the sign up page.
Auditions are open to all and we extend an invitation for all races and ethnicities to submit. Posted ages are guidelines only. Auditions for children roles in The Music Man are held separately on January 14th.

Synopsis
THE MUSIC MAN: Traveling con-man Harold Hill arrives in River City with the intention to con the locals into starting a band and purchasing their uniforms and instruments from him. His intentions are to flee as soon as he gets the money, but instead starts to fall for Marian Paroo, the Librarian and part-time piano teacher, and faces a difficult decision. Marian suspects Harold is a fraud, but stays silent about it when she sees how excited her socially awkward brother Winthrop is about the band.
FOOTLOOSE: When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. But he’s not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth.
THE LITTLE MERMAID: A headstrong mermaid trades her beautiful voice for a pair of legs and a chance at true love. This Disney musical features well known songs such as “Under the Sea,” “Part of Your World,” “Kiss the Girl” and more. A loved timeless musical that will submerge fans, young and old, into an exciting adventure under the sea! Don’t miss this family-fun show!
