Childsplay is happy to announce the returns of YETi! After taking a hiatus after 2019, we are relaunching this program.
Under the leadership of Artistic Directors Jon Gentry & Jason White, Youth Ensemble Theatre incorporated (or YETi) is a theatre production ensemble founded in 2015. YETi was created to give high school students the opportunity not only to perform but also to take part in the full frontier of theatre. Ensemble members manage everything: production, design, marketing, casting, performing, directing, writing, fundraising, and more. With the assistance of the resident Childsplay staff, these teens organize and execute all of the tasks of a professional theatre and will truly be in the hands of the ensemble.
Y.E.T.i. aims to create authentic experiences with professional-level performances from new and diverse voices and perspectives of youth in a safe, respectful environment.
We are looking for young artists that are interested in the process of making theatre from the ground up with a cohort of like-minded people. Each season ensemble members will work together to select a piece and spend the entire semester producing, building, and rehearsing this piece.
