Desert Foothills Theater Executive Director, Meribeth Reeves has taken a new position at Scottsdale Arts as Managing Director of the Scottsdale Center for the Arts. She will be working directly under Dr. Gerd Wuestemann, Scottsdale Arts’ CEO as part of a three-person management team that includes Jamie Prins, event director and Abbey Mesmer, programming director.
“While we are very sad to see her go, we are also thrilled for her new professional endeavors. Over her 12 years at DFT she, along with her board and all the people that make up DFT, have grown the organization from the brink of closure to a multi-faceted, award winning program on the verge of even greater expansion with a new facility,” said Chris Winger, FCF President and CEO. “Meribeth will continue to be actively involved in the Foothills Community Foundation and will be joining the FCF board July 1. In addition, with the support of Scottsdale Arts, she will continue to advise the new executive director as needed through the transition period.”
“Desert Foothills Theater with support of the Foothills Community Foundation is in the best position it has been in in years. I am so excited about the future of Desert Foothills Theater as the partnership with Foothills Academy and PVCC continues forward and the capital campaign picks up steam. There are so many incredible things coming to fruition through this project. I cannot wait to see what happens next,” said Reeves.
“I am excited for the opportunity to return to presenting which is where my career started and to work at the theater closest to where I grew up. The Scottsdale Center for the Arts has always held a special place in my heart and I had some life-changing artistic experiences there. I will miss the people that make Desert Foothills Theater so special. They are what truly makes the organization and they are who will ensure its continued growth and success.”
The Foothills Community Foundation will be holding a farewell party/open house to wish Meribeth well on her next endeavor, Thursday, May 17 from 6:30 – 8PM at the FCF-Holland Community Center, 34250 N. 60th Street, Scottsdale, AZ.
