Studio 3 Performing Arts Summer Acting Workshop:
Preseason Prep
May 28 - June 1
  • Do YOU want to hone your acting skills?   
  • Would you like the opportunity to work with theatre professionals on this seasons' material, as well as find additional materials for your audition book?  
This is the workshop for YOU! 
Students will:
- Gain valuable audition/performing training 
- Gather amazing audition materials specifically suited for YOU
- Choose one day, two days, or the whole week of classes!
- Completely catered to YOUR schedule!
This camp is taught by Jackie Brecker and Jeff Deglow, both of whom work professionally in the valley as both actors and instructors. They have an innate understanding of the business, which they cannot wait to share with you! 
Choose how much you want to get involved!
  • June session meets 9am-12pm and/or 12:30-3:30pm. Choose full day or half.
  • July session meets 9am-12pm only
  • $150 per person half day 5-day session. or $215 for full day 5-day session.
  • Or choose individual days at $50 per full day or $25 per half day session.
  • Please bring a notebook with paper and pencils to the workshop as well as any audition material you may have already selected (sheet music or music tracks, monologues, etc)
PRESEASON PREP SCHEDULE

Day 1 am session = Finding Your Fit & Branding Your Audition (how to find the roles that are right for you and choosing the right material to showcase your strengths

Day 1 pm session = Portfolio Pile Up: We'll help you gather a ton of material ideas for your next audition, walk you through a mock audition, and send you on your way with the top secret callback material for all our shows this season, as well as tips to stand out at auditions.)

Day 2 am session = Acting Your Song (how to create a meaningful, relatable character and make acting choices that make your song memorable)

Day 2 pm session = Vocal Technique (how to make sure you highlight your strengths and hide your weaknesses in an audition setting. It's all about choosing the right song and delivering it well. Learn what music directors are looking for.

Day 3 am session = Creating Believable Characters (how to fine tune your acting skills to portray various character types. We will explore young people, old people, villians, heroes, ingenues, sidekicks, and more!)

Day 3 pm session = Typecasting: how it can help or hurt you. Learn what roles fit you well and how you can use that to your advantage. We will explore a variety of typed roles and how to play them.

Day 4 am session: Monologues: Find Them and Make them Fabulous (We'll show you how to find the best monologues as well as those to stay away from. We'lll also teach you how to write your own!)

Day 4 pm session: Improvisation Learn how to improvise strong choices in your cold reads and in scenework in general.

Day 5 am and/or pm session = Stronger Scene Work (master the art of cold reading and making connections with other people in a scene)
