Starlight Community Theatre's Camp Rising Star Summer sessions for 2017:

Camp Rising Star Returns for Another Season of Summer Fun

Starlight Community Theater’s Camp Rising Star is back for the 2017 Summer Season and we are inviting young actors across the Valley to join us on center stage! For this year's season, we’ll be holding three sensational sessions with shows that include:

●       Disney’s Peter Pan Jr. (Musical)

●       Cry Havoc! AKA Shakespearean Swordplay (Dramatic Play)

●       Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS (Musical)

To kick-off the Summer, our first session will be Disney’s Peter Pan Jr. 

Based on the Disney film and J.M. Barrie's enchanting play, this modern version of the timeless classic follows a boy who refuses to grow up and features one adventure after another. After some hi-jinx, we learn more about characters like Wendy, her brothers Michael and John, the Lost Boys, Mermaids, Indians and some infamous pirates!

This first session will go from June 5 to 17, Monday through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is designed for campers who are between the ages of 7-17. Auditions for named lead roles will take place on June 5 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and two of the performing shows will take place on Saturday, June 17 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Our second session, will allows campers to experience some of Shakespeare's most famous fight scenes with the Dramatic Play known as Cry Havoc! AKA Shakespearean Swordplay. Freely adapted from a multitude of Shakespeare's most famous work, we will teach our young actors about what goes into stage fighting and all the fun and safety that goes into it.

This session will go from June 19 to 24, Monday through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is designed for campers who are between the ages of 13 to 17. Two of the performing shows will take place on Saturday, June 24 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Our final session will take our campers to the wild with The Jungle Book KIDS! Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, this awesome musical features a host of colorful characters and your favorite songs from the movie. Follow characters like Mowgli, Bagheera, Baloo, and many more beloved characters as they restore peace to the jungle.

This session will go from July 17 to 29, Monday through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is designed for campers who are between the ages of 7 to 17.  Auditions for named lead roles will take place on July 17 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and two of the performing shows will take place on Saturday, July 29 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

For those looking to register for 2017 Camp Rising Star, there will be an early registration special for anyone who registers on or before April 30. This price will be $275 per student.  If you are already a Starlight Community Theater Member, prices will start at $255.

After April 30, prices will increase to $295 per student and $275 for Starlight Community Theater Members.

Membership in Starlight Community Theater is $20 annually per family household per theater season, July 1st through June 30th of the following calendar year.
