Desert Foothills Theater presents Conversations with Kim: An Evening with Oscar Winning Actor J. K. Simmons - May 23


Desert Foothills Theater proudly welcomes Academy Award-winning actor, J.K. Simmons, one of this country's hardest-working, most giving and most successful actors. Hosted by his brother, DFT Production Manager, David Simmons.

This is an intimate opportunity to hear stories and experiences from J.K. himself. Find out just what it takes to become successful in a very challenging and competitive industry. This priceless, once in a lifetime experience will even provide audiences the opportunity to ask some of their own questions.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1955, J.K. Simmons studied voice and composition before working for years as a stage actor, eventually making his way to Broadway performing in A Change in the Heir, Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby, Guys and Dolls and Laughter on the 23rd Floor. He turned to TV and film as well, with a wide range of roles in projects like HBO's OZ, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Gift, Spider-Man, Juno and Up in the Air. Having already received a Golden Globe and critics’ awards, he won the first Oscar of his career for his role as harsh jazz bandleader Fletcher in the film Whiplash.
