audition notice - THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST - Desert Stages Theatre - April 30


Come be a part of our final show in the Actor's Cafe this season~ The Improtance of Being Earnest
Directed by Katibelle Collins

Two young gents have taken to bending the truth in order to put some excitement into their lives. Worthing has invented a brother whom he uses as an excuse to leave his dull life behind. Montcrieff decides to take the name Earnest when visiting Worthing’s beautiful ward, Cecily. Things start to go awry and their deceptions are discovered.

Auditions:
Sunday, April 30th at 7:00pm

Callbacks:
Monday, May 1st at 7:00pm

Be prepared for cold reads from the script and bring head shot and resume.

Rehearsals begin May 8th and run 7-10pm, Mondays-Thursdays with possible Sunday evenings as well.

These two roles will possibly be played by one actor.

Gwendolen Fairfax- 23-30
Algernon's cousin/Lady Bracknell's daughter.
Cecily Cardew- 23-28
Jack's ward

Jack's Aunt
Miss Prism-30+
Cecily's governess


Director's note:
This Oscar Wilde piece is period piece, I will be looking for actors who understand the genre, its mannerisms, style and rhythm of speech. It will require an British accent.
